Condition 1: I can find pre-charged cans locally, and I only need to fill several cans each batch.

In this case, a manual spray can filler M-102 is option 1. But you need to make sure that the pre-charged can is attached with the special plastic cap to fit this machine.

Option 2 is the PM-214 spray paint can filler. This machine is compatible with universal pre-charged cans. No need to care about the special plastic cap. But you need to prepare a small air compressor to drive this machine.

Condition 2: I can find pre-charged cans locally, and I want to fill hundreds or thousands of cans each batch.

In this case, the PM-620 paint can filling machine is a good fit. It’s equipped with a liquid paint material hopper which allows you to produce continuously. It’s pneumatic so you need to prepare an air compressor to drive it.

Condition 3: I can't find pre-charged cans locally.

If you can’t find pre-charged cans locally, you have to think about seal the can and fill the gas by yourself. In this case, you can take one set of MC-10 manual aerosol can crimper to seal the can after you pour the liquid paint into the empty can. Then you can take the GS-01 aerosol can gasser to fill the gas into the can. You also need to prepare an air compressor to drive the gasser.

4. Filling Volume

Usually there are 2 filling volume options for our machinery: 100ml and 200ml. If you have other filling volume requirement, please tell us in advance. Machine customization might be needed.

5. Filling Mode: Continuous V.S. Discontinuous

There are 2 modes for machine running.

One is to insert the can, rotate to locate the can, close the machine door, and then activate the filling. But you need to open the door, rotate to loosen and remove the can before inserting another can for filling. We call this discontinuous mode.

The other is to place the can and then activate the filling and remove the can. And then place another can for filling. We call this continuous mode.

If you intend to fill dozens of cans each time, then the discontinuous mode machine is a good fit. If you intend to fill hundreds to thousands of cans, then you’d better go with the continuous mode machine which is higher productive.

6. Pre-charged Cans Availability

Many of our customers are paint shops and auto body shops who do the custom spray paint in a spray can for different objects to match to the original colour. They are actually not likely to make a plentiful of cans at a time. The most practical and commercial approach for them is to buy pre-charged cans locally or somewhere else, and then fill the mixed paints into several cans.

What is the capacity of a spray paint can?

What gas is used in spray paint cans?

The propellant gas used in spray paint cans is LPG(butane/propane) mostly. Some may use DME or adding a little bit of CO2, depending on the formulation.

Why is there a ball in spray paint cans?

The ball can be metal, glass or plastic. It is used for paint ingredients mixing purpose mainly. When a can of spray paint is not used for long, the ingredient contents mixture tends to separate and settle at the bottom of the can. The ball helps enhancing the contents mixing inside the can when shaking, which is helpful for good spraying performance.

Why does my spray paint can stop spraying?

There are 2 common causes to your spray paint can not spraying: 1) the actuator/nozzle is blocked; 2) propellant gas is run out due to use or leakage. You only need to clean the nozzle to get it spraying again if it comes to cause 1. For cause 2, you can fill again some propellant gas into the can to resume spraying if it not leaking. If it is due to leakage, then you can’t use this can again.
